Ingredients

Base:

  • 1.5 lbs 680g ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp 15ml Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • ¼ cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • ¼ cup grated zucchini
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

Preheat Oven

  • I preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) for even cooking and a nice crust on these tasty baked patties.

Mix Meat

  • In a large bowl, I combine 1.5 lbs ground beef, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp pepper, and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (if using). I mix gently to avoid tough flavorful burger bites.

Shape Patties

  • I divide the mixture into 4–6 equal portions and form ¾-inch thick patties. I make a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing for perfect simple oven burgers.

Arrange Patties

  • I place the patties on a parchment-lined or lightly greased baking sheet with a wire rack for even cooking. I ensure space between patties to avoid grease pooling in these tasty baked patties.

Bake Burgers

  • I bake for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway if desired, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for safe, juicy flavorful burger bites.

Rest and Serve

  • I let the burgers rest for 3–5 minutes to redistribute juices, then serve warm for delicious simple oven burgers.

Notes

  • Use room temperature meat for even cooking — let the beef sit out for 15 minutes before shaping.
  • Handle the meat gently to avoid overworking and ensure tender patties.
  • Indent the center of each patty to prevent bulging during baking.
  • Use a meat thermometer for guaranteed perfect doneness every time.
  • Allow burgers to rest after baking to retain juices and enhance flavor.
