Zombie Cocktail Recipe
A potent tropical cocktail made with a mix of rums, fruit juices, and a splash of grenadine, the Zombie is a tiki classic that’s both flavorful and strong.

- 1 1/2 oz light rum
- 1 1/2 oz dark rum
- 1 oz overproof rum for float
- 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
- 1 oz pineapple juice
- 1 oz papaya juice or passion fruit juice
- 1/2 oz apricot brandy
- 1/2 oz grenadine
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- Crushed ice
- Pineapple wedge and mint sprig for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice.
Add the light rum, dark rum, lime juice, pineapple juice, papaya juice, apricot brandy, grenadine, bitters, and simple syrup.
Shake vigorously until well chilled.
Pour the contents (including ice) into a tall tiki glass or highball glass.
Float the overproof rum on top by gently pouring over the back of a spoon.
Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a sprig of mint.
Serve with a straw and enjoy responsibly.
- This cocktail is very strong; consume with caution.
- Substitute papaya juice with passion fruit juice if unavailable.
- Adjust grenadine and syrup for sweetness preference.
