- 1 cup 240ml warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 ¼ tsp 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
- 2 ½ –3 cups 300–360g all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- For the Topping:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
- ½ tsp garlic salt with parsley flakes or ¼ tsp garlic powder + pinch of dried parsley
Activate the Yeast
In a large bowl, I mix 1 cup warm water, 2 ¼ tsp yeast, and 1 tbsp sugar, stirring gently. I let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy, ensuring a fluffy homemade breadstick delight.
Mix the Dough
I add 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp vegetable oil, and 2 cups flour to the yeast mixture, stirring until sticky. I gradually add ½–1 cup more flour, mixing until a soft dough forms for these fluffy breadsticks.
First Rise
I place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 30 minutes until doubled, creating the perfect base for Olive Garden Breadsticks.
Second Rise and Bake
