Ingredients

  • 1 box 15.25 oz white cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 1/2 cup red white, and blue M&M’s or chocolate candies
  • 1/4 cup red white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, oil, and vanilla (if using) until a thick dough forms.
  • Gently fold in the red, white, and blue M&M’s and sprinkles.
  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops no longer look wet.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake—the cookies will continue to set as they cool.
  • You can use patriotic chocolate chips or other colored candies instead of M&M’s.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
