Ingredients
  

For the Pizza Dough:

  • 1 pound pizza dough

For the Pizza Sauce:

  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

For the Toppings:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 ounces pitted large black olives

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the oven and dough: Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Roll out the pizza dough and cut 3-inch circles with a cookie cutter. Arrange on the baking sheet.
  • Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, parsley, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (if using), and balsamic vinegar.
  • Assemble the pizzas: Spread a small amount of sauce on each dough circle. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake: Bake about 8 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
  • Create the spiders: Slice black olives—use halves for bodies and thin strips for legs—and arrange on warm pizzas.
