Ingredients

Base:

  • 8 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • ½ cup 100g packed brown sugar
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp 30ml olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme optional
  • Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1 tbsp 15ml honey
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp rosemary or Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp 15ml soy sauce

Instructions

Prep Chicken

  • I preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). I pat 8 chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season both sides with 1 tsp salt and ½ tsp pepper for these juicy glazed chicken thighs.

Make Glaze

  • In a bowl, I mix ½ cup brown sugar, 6 minced garlic cloves, 2 tbsp olive oil, and 1 tsp thyme (if using) into a thick paste. I spread it evenly over the chicken, pressing lightly to adhere.

Bake Chicken

  • I arrange the thighs in a single layer in a baking dish, ensuring space for crisp skin. I bake for 35–40 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is caramelized.

Rest and Serve

  • I let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm for perfect flavorful baked thighs.

Notes

  •  For boneless thighs or breasts, reduce baking time to 25–30 minutes.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
  • Mix a tablespoon of honey into the glaze for extra richness.
  • Letting chicken rest after baking keeps it juicy.
