Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 80% lean
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried oregano. Mix gently until just combined.
  • Divide the mixture into 4-6 equal portions and shape into patties about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb.
  • Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time for preferred doneness.
  • Let patties rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve on toasted buns with preferred toppings.

Notes

  • Avoid overmixing the patty mixture to keep them tender.
  • Resting the patties after cooking helps retain juices for a juicy burger.
